HERSHEY ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Tired of trying to raise funds for your non-profit organization
through selling pizzas, magazines, candy, etc.? Why not consider
the Volunteer Program at the HERSHEY Entertainment Complex! Our Volunteer
Program is the perfect fundraising opportunity for your organization
to earn money, have fun doing it, and it is easy. How easy? If a
group of 10 people works for one shift (8 hours), together they potentially
can make $468 for the organization. If you are interested in assisting
us in our operations, in return we will assist you with yours!
How can HERSHEY ENTERTAINMENT & RESORTS help our group raise
money?
Within HERSHEY ENTERTAINMENT & RESORTS, the HERSHEY Entertainment
Complex, which is comprised of HERSHEYPARK, HERSHEYPARK Arena, HERSHEYPARK
Stadium, and the GIANT Center, offers a wide selection of job tasks
that need to be completed during times of the season when our staffing
is not up to its full potential. Typically those times of the year
are mid-April weekends through Memorial Day, and mid-August through
the end of September. Select groups will be asked to work needed
shifts for our shoulder season events, which include Halloween in
Hershey and Christmas Candylane. After a group’s shift is completed,
a check will be made out to the non-profit organization within one
month of the completed shift. You help HERSHEY ENTERTAINMENT & RESORTS
by providing your assistance through our daily operations and we
help your organization raise the funds it desires.

Once we have received your organization's information a confirmation
letter will be sent to your group, we will try to place you in your
first choice department; however, it is subject to availability.
Once your information is passed on to a department, that department
will contact you with available volunteering dates. Please be aware
that if your group applies between October and March, your application
may be put on hold. During this time our departments re-evaluate
their volunteer group needs for the next season.
If your group leader or group availability changes, please be sure
to call the Entertainment Complex Human Resource Office at 717-534-3326
with the new or updated information. You may also contact us by email,
Volunteer@HersheyPA.com.
What if I do not have experience, will you train me?
What is most important is being friendly, courteous, and having
a positive attitude. You will find that our positions require very
basic duties. In fact, specific training is offered at the beginning
of your shift. You will work side-by-side or within close proximity
to an Entertainment Complex employee who will assist you with questions
or problems that may arise during your working experience.
What do I wear?
Everything our guests see contributes to his/her impression of our
facility; therefore, we ask that all volunteers present a neat and
clean image and wear the following:
- Clothing: dark colored slacks, Bermuda shorts, plain light colored
shirt/blouse with a collar (polo shirts are recommended) – no words,
pictures, or logos may be visible. Jeans and t-shirts are not permitted!
- Footwear: comfortable, non-slip work shoes or sneakers with
covered heels; most positions require periods of standing. High
heels, clogs, and open-toe footwear is not permitted! (This includes
all sandals!)
- Other: Depending on the weather, you may wish to bring/wear
a sweater, sweatshirt, or jacket—no words, pictures, or logos may
be visible. We recommend sunscreen for most outdoor assignments.
If a volunteer wears anything that does not comply with our volunteer
appearance policy, they will be asked to leave.
What about breaks?
We will provide meal breaks during your scheduled shift if it exceeds
four (4) hours. For all HERSHEYPARK assignments, volunteers may enjoy
their break at the Coaster Café, our employee cafeteria. At the Coaster
Cafe, volunteers will be able to choose from a variety of delicious
hot and cold items at employee prices. All other assignments, breaks
will be provided; however, an employee cafeteria will not be available.
A supervisor will communicate where the break areas will be at the
beginning of your shift.
It is important that everyone return from
break on time. Smoking, tobacco products, eating, and gum chewing
are strictly prohibited while on duty. Use of cell phones is also
strictly prohibited and is enforced! Please note that your group
will not be paid for breaks and your immediate supervisor schedules
all breaks.
Can I bring my children?
NO, they will not be admitted to the Park or an event without purchasing
a ticket. If a child purchases a ticket and enters the Park or an
event, they are not allowed to be in designated work areas.
What if the weather is bad?
We may be forced to operate on a limited basis; however, don’t assume
that your group will not be needed. If your services are not required
due to inclement weather, or any other operational reason, HERSHEY
Entertainment Complex management will contact your group leader at
least two (2) hours prior to your reporting time, and a cancellation
fee of $10 per volunteer up to $50 will be paid to your organization.
For this reason, we suggest you develop a “quick call” system within
your group.
If your services are required and your group cancels or fails to
report, you will receive no payment and be removed from our list
of program participants. In any event, please call the department
in which you are scheduled to work if you have any questions.
